FAQs

  • There will be no accommodation changes made on site. All rooming requests can only be during registration. With limited space in each cabin, we cannot meet all rooming requests. We understand how important this aspect of camp is for every camper, so we spend a significant amount of time organizing cabins so that reflect the rooming requests made at the time of online registration.

  • Children are allowed to self-carry asthma and anaphylaxis medications. All other medications must in original labeled containers and given to the Nurse at Check-in.

  • Although we do our best at honouring all room requests, they cannot be guaranteed and will only be considered for campers who are the same gender/grade.

  • Unfortunately, we can’t take any team requests. Teams are made randomly to ensure equal ability. We receive dozens of requests every year that we cannot accommodate. We see this as an opportunity for campers to meet new people and make new friends. Please refrain from making a specific sports team placing requests, especially on-site!

  • Sunnyside Camps are a cell phone free zone. We ask all campers to leave their cell phone at home.

Camp is a one week period of time that we set aside to change the pace of life. We want campers to fully engage in camp life. Cell phones tend to be a major distraction from that end.

  • Upon request with advanced notice (30 days), Sunnyside Camp can provide basic, alternative meal options for those with severely restrictive food allergies. All campers with food allergies must be confident determining which dishes in the buffet may contain allergens, as buffet service is not supervised. Any questions about the ingredients of particular dishes can be directed to the head cook at the time of service. Parents of campers with severe allergies are also encouraged to send special food and snacks with their camper (ie. breakfast items for campers with celiac disease). A fridge and freezer are available onsite for this purpose.

  • You are able to provide the contact information of an additional person dropping off and/or picking up your child from camp during registration. Authorized drop-off or pick-up contacts will be required to Show ID to verify identity. Please arrange for drop-off and pick-up in advance.

  • You will be able to contact Sunnyside Camp if your child has lost something at camp. Sunnyside will keep all lost items for one week before they donate them.

  • If you must sign your child out of camp early, please make sure to let us know so that we can ensure their bags are packed when you arrive and your camper's leaders are informed about their scheduled absence.
